We want to encourage greater biodiversity in addressing the climate emergency. This means encouraging more bees, butterflies and other local wildlife.
You may notice in our parks that we let the grass grow in certain areas, for example:
You’ll see a greater diversity in those areas, like different kinds of wildflowers. We hope to see more.
We’ve been careful to ensure that there is still plenty of space for people to relax, have picnics, play sports and enjoy the outdoors. We’ll continue to maintain plenty of mown grassed areas for these activities.
