Ways to donate, volunteer or help people from Ukraine

Find out how you can support people of Ukraine by donating money, goods or your own time, or by hosting people in your home or providing accommodation. 

There are a lot of ways to help the people of Ukraine. Many international and local initiatives accept donations of money, goods and services. 

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) has launched a Ukrainian Humanitarian Appeal on behalf of 15 major charities who are in Ukraine and neighbouring countries supporting refugees and displaced people.

Other ways you can help people from Ukraine

Contact us if you are interested in providing support in the following ways. 

Host (sponsor) a Ukrainian family 

Provide a room or self contained accommodation for a minimum of six months. It can't be a rental property. Provide practical support to help guest integrate. 

Accommodation for longer term refugee resettlement schemes 

provide affordable self-contained accommodation for rent. Ideally a 24-month contract. 

Employment opportunities and/or meaningful activities

Provide jobs or volunteering opportunities, coaching or skills building activities.

Volunteer your time and skills 

This could include interpreting, running social/wellbeing activities or a befriending scheme, providing local orientation support, volunteering time and skills to support the work of local community organisations. 

Support a donations hub 

Through volunteering time and/or donating of goods and funds. 

Use your skills to provide specialist services or advice 

This could include mental health/psychosocial support or immigration advice.
