Trade Union facilities
Trade Union Facility Time: 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023
The following shows trade union activity at Southwark Council, including the number of employees who get time off to do union work and how much they are paid.
We publish:
- total number (absolute number and full time equivalent) of employees who are union representatives
- total number (absolute number and full time equivalent) of union representatives who devote less than 50 per cent of their time to union duties
- names of trade unions represented at the council
- a basic estimate of spending on unions as a percentage of the total pay bill
We support the principles of collective bargaining and local engagement, and recognise the role trade unions can play in:
- maintaining and developing positive employee relations
- giving voice and strengthening communication between the council and our employees
- representing individual employees
