Corporate data privacy notice

Who we share data with

In our day to day role, we are often required to share personal data with other teams and external agencies to ensure we provide the right services to you. Sometimes we share information because:

  • the laws tell us to
  • a contract requires us to
  • an agreement allows us to
  • we have your consent
  • it is necessary to provide social care
  • it is necessary to preserve life or prevent serious harm

If your data is being shared with a third party, we will tell you when we collect your data. If your data is shared with us by a third party, we will contact you to let you know that we have received your data and how we will process it. A list of our current contract providers can be found on the contracts register.

Sometimes, we may be required to share your data with organisations such as the police or central government departments. If a request for your information is received, we may release it because:

  • the law tells us to
  • the law tells us we can if we believe it is proportionate

If a request for your information is received in these situations, we will thoroughly assess the request before disclosing any information. We will not tell you when your data is shared with a statutory agency, unless you ask us. In some cases, we may not be able to tell you when you ask.

When sharing your personal information, we will always work with care and proportionality. Your data will only be sent by secure email or recorded delivery. We will only share your personal information with agencies which are entitled to receive it.
