Refuse collection

In adverse weather conditions, there may be times when we are unable to collect waste from households until snow and ice have cleared. Although roads may be safe for normal cars to use in snowy conditions, our vehicles are much larger, and we undertake collections in many narrow and congested streets. We would only operate vehicles in snow conditions where we are sure it is safe to do so. This is because we would not wish to increase the risk of accident, injury or obstruction at times when travel conditions could already be very difficult.

It is rare for services to be affected by bad weather but if your household waste collection is delayed due to snow, it will be rescheduled when conditions allow this to be done safely. We will add updates to our website so that you can find out how your services are affected.
