We will always try to engage with children and families to the best of our ability. This is to gather views on: 

• our proposals
• our policies
• when we are making any changes to the services we deliver

Consultations are a way of making sure that those are affected can: 

• have a say
• influence
• be assured that their views have been considered as part of the decision-making process

We will give due consideration to the views expressed in responses to consultations.  However, in order to reach a balanced decision, these views must be weighed against other relevant considerations such as available resources and legislation.
