Disability support
If your child or adolescent has a severe and permanent disability we can support them and you.
Our team is made up of social workers, communication specialists and support staff.
We carry out assessments, plan services and provide social care support.
We work with other professionals to build a team around the needs of a child.
We also provide advice to parents and can refer them to other services as appropriate.

You should decide if a case meets the criteria for disability registration.
If it does not, we can provide advice on other services that may be able to help.
If it does, complete the inter-agency referral form. A social worker will be assigned to carry out an assessment.
It usually takes 35 days to complete and involves seeing the child at home and at school.
They will assess:
-
the child's needs and the parent's ability to meet them
-
environmental factors that may be influencing a child's upbringing
Safeguarding
We have a legal responsibility to make sure children are safe.
If you're worried about the safety of a child with a disability, find out what to do.
