We aim to keep our markets free of fake items so that honest traders can thrive without fear of unfair and illegal competition.
Our Trading Standards and Markets teams carry out regular patrols to ensure illegal goods aren't on sale.
It's a criminal offence to deal in counterfeit goods. It's also a breach of your licence conditions. Counterfeit items will be seized from less reputable stalls and shops around the borough and legal action taken.
There are also a variety of safety regulations in force to ensure that things like toys, cosmetics and electrical items are safe to use. It's an offence to supply goods that don't comply with regulations.
If you wish to report anyone selling illegal goods, contact a market officer in confidence or report it online to London Trading Standards
