Help for businesses and employers

Coronavirus (COVID-19): Support and information for businesses and employers

The government, in consultation with industry, has produced guidance to help ensure workplaces are as safe as possible.

These 8 guides cover a range of different types of work. Many businesses operate more than one type of workplace, such as an office, factory and fleet of vehicles. You may need to use more than one of these guides as you think through what you need to do to keep people safe.

Health and safety inspectors

Our team aims to ensure businesses have sufficient information in a format that's accessible and relevant. This enables businesses to better protect the health, safety and welfare of their workplace and employees.

You can find further information in a downloadable guide available on the HSE website, which includes:

  • what a business owner can expect when a health and safety inspector calls at their workplace
  • what information employees and their representatives can expect during an inspector's visit
