Retail, Hospitality and Leisure relief 2024-25

At the Autumn Statement on 22 November 2023, the Chancellor announced the extension of the business rates relief scheme for retail, hospitality and leisure properties.

The 2024-25 Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Business Rates Relief Scheme will provide eligible occupied retail, hospitality and leisure properties with a 75% relief, up to a cash cap limit of £110,000 per business. A business is only entitled to £315k over 3 years so if your business has received the full award in 2022-23 and 2023-24 it would only be entitled to £95k this year.

These property types will qualify:

  • shops
  • opticians
  • restaurants
  • cafes
  • takeaways
  • clubs
  • pubs
  • bars
  • hotels
  • museums
  • gyms
  • theatres
  • cinemas

Under the cash cap, no business can get more than £110,000 relief across all of their properties in England.

These property types won’t qualify:

  • properties not reasonably accessible to the public
  • properties used to provide financial or professional services

We've awarded the relief to businesses that qualify. If you haven’t been given the relief but think you may qualify, you can apply for this.
