Overview

You need a licence to put street furniture outside your premises, including:

  • barriers
  • shop front displays
  • advertising boards
  • planters

This is only normally possible where there will be 1.5 metres of clear footway for people to pass by. This might be different in busy areas.

To place chairs and tables outside your premises, apply for a pavement licence.
