Council Tax Support Fund
The government has given councils funding to support the most vulnerable households with their Council Tax bills with discounts of up to £25.
If you're eligible for this support you'll get a discount on your 2023 Council Tax bill.
Who can get a discount
If you're getting Council Tax Reduction on the 1 April 2023 and you pay Council Tax, you're eligible for a discount.
How much discount you'll get
The amount of discount you'll get depends on how much your Council Tax bill is.
- If your bill is over £25 you'll get the maximum £25 discount
- If your bill is less than £25 you'll get a discount to take your bill to zero
- If your bill is already zero you won't get a discount
If you're getting Council Tax Reduction on the 1 April 2023 you don't need apply for the discount.
Discounts will be applied automatically to eligible 2023 Council Tax bills.
More support
If there's funding left after all discounts have been awarded, then more support will be given to vulnerable households to help them pay their Council Tax bills.
