Where I started

"I joined Southwark in 2014 as a social worker in the hospital discharge team, new to adult social care and the hospital setting. Thanks to the support of my team and managers, I quickly found my feet and discovered a passion for developing services and supporting others to thrive."

How I've been supported at Southwark

"Over the years, I’ve been encouraged to grow, taking on roles as deputy team manager, team manager, and now Service Manager for transformation in the older people and physical disabilities service. Southwark gave me the training and opportunities to build my leadership skills, from practice educator training to the Institute of Leadership and Management course. Each step along the way, my managers championed me, helping me develop confidence and trust in my abilities."

Using technology to improve our services

"In my current role, I lead projects that improve how we work, from introducing online referral systems to piloting AI tools that free up practitioner time. Every day is different, whether I’m mapping processes, testing new technologies, or collaborating with staff and partners to improve services for the people we support."

What’s kept me here is the people. I’ve always been surrounded by dedicated, caring colleagues who lift each other up. Southwark’s commitment to developing and nurturing its staff is real, and I’m proof of what’s possible when you’re supported to grow."
