Why I do what I do
"Here at Southwark adult social care, we listen - truly listen - to people. We hear their stories, struggles, and victories. Through that listening, we work to shape real solutions that make a difference.
As service development manager, my mission is clear: to support adult social care to deliver meaningful outcomes for people. We know we can make a difference, and for me, that’s what drives everything.
Social care isn't about fixing lives - we can’t erase the challenges people face. But we can support greater independence, create opportunities for people to thrive, and celebrate the power of small steps. Those small steps? They matter.
To achieve this, we need a workforce that feels truly valued, people who know that their work isn’t just a job - it’s a lifeline for those who need it most. I’ve seen the pride in my colleagues when they talk about the work they do in Southwark. Adult social care professionals make an impact every single day, and that’s something to be proud of.
As a qualified social worker, my passion has always been rooted in working with people, championing their voices, and striving for real improvements in quality of life."
About me
"People are at the heart of everything I do, both professionally and personally. They make life richer, more meaningful. I love spending time with my daughter, who’s currently exploring Southeast Asia, and my wider family, who remind me every day why human connection matters so much.
I also love a challenge, whether it’s tackling complex social care issues or pushing myself in endurance sports. My next challenge? A triathlon at Crystal Palace."
