Purchasing or loaning an instrument

An instrument may be loaned to pupils receiving tuition at the centres, although they are not allowed to take it home immediately.

Pupils receiving tuition can purchase new instruments without paying 17.5 percent in VAT through their school.

The pupil or parent selects an instrument and pays the school the discounted amount. The school will then pay the full cost, reclaim the discount, and pass the instrument on to the pupil.

For other ways to get involved in music and to find out more about financial assistance schemes you can visit the Directgov website.
