Education Projects and Consultations Find out about our current projects and consultations in education.
Consultation on children missing from education policy
We have prepared a Children missing from education policy. This is intended to inform children’s services officers, schools, governing bodies and other agencies about the policy and procedures to be followed in order to prevent and also identify children who are, or might be, missing from education. Find out more about this consultation.
Consultation on admission arrangements and school term and holiday dates
Each year we are required to consult on the co-ordinated schemes for Southwark maintained schools and academies and the admission arrangements for Southwark community schools. Find out more about this consultation.
Southwark schools for the future
The Southwark schools for the future programme is developing exciting plans to transform education in the borough. It's part of Building Schools for the Future, a government plan to rebuild or renew every state secondary school in England.
Healthy schools
Our healthy schools project is part of a national programme that helps young people and their schools to be healthy. Find out how we are making a difference to the health and achievement of young people in Southwark.
Environmental education for schools
We provide environmental education for schools in the borough. The aim is to raise awareness of issues like littering and graffiti, as well as teaching pupils about waste and recycling.
Eco schools
Schools can register to become part of Eco Schools, an international group working towards education for sustainable development and a better quality of life for local and global communities.
Education regeneration
Our education regeneration service works in partnership to bring together schools, pupils, parents and the community. Projects provide extra support to schools that would not be available without additional funding.
Education business alliance
The education business alliance (EBA) brings together schools and businesses across the borough, working together for mutual gain. The EBA acts as a broker between schools, businesses and community groups, initiating ideas and getting projects off the ground.
