Victory Community Park – play area design consultation
Victory Community Park is located close to the Elephant and Castle. The local area is undergoing major redevelopment including new homes, new roads, Elephant Park and smaller open spaces.
We’ve created a final design to improve Victory Community Park and to create better connections to the local area.
The final design takes into account public feedback from three previous consultations held in January and September 2020, and September 2021. The report findings from these consultations can be viewed here
How the play area design has progressed?
The designs for the park include a refurbishment of the existing play area. We have developed an initial design for this area based on public comments from the previous consultations. It’s important that the play area meets the needs of families visiting the park and that the children who will use it have another say in its final design.
The play area design includes:
- accessible play equipment which allows all children to play together,
- trampolines,
- new play equipment for younger children 3-8 years and
- new play equipment for older children 7-13 years.
We would like your comments on this design shown on the survey webpage.
You can respond to this online survey by following the link below. You can also come and talk to us in person at one of our drop in events at the play area on Saturday 21 January, 1pm - 3pm or Tuesday 24 January, 3pm – 4pm. The design team will be there to answer your questions and help you complete the survey.
This online survey is open to anyone who lives, works or visits Southwark. Tell us what you think about our latest play area designs by closing date of 12 February 2023. Our parks team at Southwark Council look forward to hearing from you.
What happens next
We will consider all responses to this consultation and these will be used to create a final design for the play area early in 2023.
The final designs will be shared with people on the project mailing list and on the main project webpage: https://www.southwark.gov.uk/parks-and-open-spaces/projects-in-parks/victory-community-park.
Construction work will start in the park later in 2023. Please check the above webpage for updates.
