Statement of community involvement

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out how and when the council involve the community in:

  1. The development of planning policy and guidance documents.
  2. Applications for development proposals submitted to the council for planning permission.

The current SCI was adopted in 2008 and can be found below:

Please note, parts of the council’s decision making process as set out in the SCI has since been superseded by the council’s constitution. This includes decisions on planning applications, release of Section 106 monies and designation of conservation areas determined at planning committee and planning sub-committees.
