The open space at Greendale in East Dulwich / Camberwell came back into council management on 21 January 2018, after a long lease to a third party.

Minor works are due to begin at the end of July, to make the site safe and accessible. Pathways, bins and benches will be installed. The majority of the site will be left how it is.

The Friends of Greendale are an active community group who love the space for it’s unusual wild appearance and ecological value. It has been proposed for designation as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) in the New Southwark Plan.

A management plan (pdf, 5.1mb) has been produced to guide the management of this new public park in the short term, while we consider and consult on it’s long term future.
