Pullens Gardens

The project to bring a fabulous new playground to Pullens Gardens has now been completed.  A plethora of new entrances, meandering pathways and subtle planting has completely transformed a previously dark and overgrow park.

Since the gardens re-opened in December, visiting the playground after school has become a regular fixture for local children. The annual Pullens Gardens festival will return to its home later this year to celebrate this much loved local green space.

Mayflower Park

Mayflower Park

Southwark Council opened a brand new park on Salter Road in Rotherhithe. On 11 August, Mayflower Park opened its gates to local people and visitors to the peninsular.

Mayflower Park brings the council’s total number of parks and open spaces to 131 and adds to the broader redevelopment of Surrey Docks.

Fairview Estates helped bring this new public park about, as part of their planning conditions. Mayflower Park is in its infancy, with newly planted trees and associated landscaping.

Cllr Barrie Hargrove, Southwark Council cabinet member for communities, leisure and safety, said: “We are delighted to bring a new green space to Rotherhithe and I hope it will fast become well used and valued by the local community.”
