Shape the future of Burgess Park
Burgess Park west
We are spending £3.5million on improving the south western area of Burgess Park, which was not included in the previous redevelopment work. Plans have been developed, taking into account the results of four public consultations, and improvements include a bigger nature area, a play area and improving Rust Square with soft landscaping.
The project site covers Rust Square up to the underpass below Wells Way, including the section of New Church which is within the park and the nature area.

If you would like to be kept updated on the project including diversions or have any questions feel free to get in touch.
The section of New Church Road that is inside the park will be permanently closed from 4 December 2017.
We are building a new alternative pathway which is due to be ready in spring 2018, and will provide a link between Wells Way and Southampton Way, as well as north to Albany Road. The new path will be 4m wide, lit at night and shared by everyone who uses the park. The pathway will be part of Quietway 7 which will officially open later in 2018. We apologise for any inconvenience.
The entrance to Burgess Park that is on Albany Road (located to the west of BMX Track London) has been temporarily closed to allow work to be carried out safely. We expect it to be open again in late February 2018. There are other entrances to Burgess Park nearby on Albany Road, to the east at the BMX track and also to the west.
