Great result for GCSE students in Southwark

With the majority of GCSE (and equivalent) results now in, Southwark schools and academies are reporting the biggest improvement in the history of the borough.
Provisional figures show that for students acquiring five or more A* to C grades including English and mathematics, we have improved by around 8 percentage points putting us five percentage points ahead of the present national average. The national improvement is reported at around 2 percentage points.
Many schools have seen their results leap by over ten percentage points including Bacon's College, The Charter School, the academy@peckham, St Michael's Catholic School and Walworth Academy.
Other schools, such as Sacred Heart and Notre Dame have maintained their outstanding records of high achievement.
