Southwark school out of special measures
Published 29 June 2010
A headteacher has today thanked parents and staff for their efforts to bring a Southwark school out of special measures.
Goose Green Primary and Nursery School in East Dulwich has made considerable improvements to standards and is no longer in special measures after a recent OFSTED inspection.
The staff, leadership and governors have put in a great deal of work to raise standards at the school. The continued support from parents and carers is reflected by the fact the autumn intake is over subscribed and the school currently has a waiting list.
This summer, Goose Green Primary and Nursery school will be holding their seventh annual summer fair on 10 July 2010. This is the biggest of the school summer fairs involving a carnival procession through the streets with banners and a band followed by a fair on Goose Green in the heart of East Dulwich. This year's theme is the World Cup.
