Edward Thompson of 19plus plays his own song to Councillor Dora Dixon-Fyle

Councillor Dora Dixon – Fyle had a song performed to her on Monday afternoon, when she made a visit to the 19Plus disability programme at Cambridge House.

19Plus is a very successful arts based group at Cambridge House made up of ten local adults with learning disabilities. Edward Thompson wrote and sang the song for Councillor Dora Dixon - Fyle.

The group's objective is to provide visually stimulating activities that help communication and understanding and to boost confidence through creative self expression.

All staff who work with the group have an arts background and the making of visual imagery plays a very important role in the group's works.

Councillor Dora Dixon - Fyle said: "I was delighted to be able to spend some time with members of the 19Plus group and see the positive impact of this disability programme on their social and health wellbeing."

19Plus is currently at the Tenants and Residents Association, Poets Corner Estate, while building redevelopment is taking place at Cambridge House.
