Golden Ticket proves a success for all
Published 30 December 2009
A competition to get more Southwark residents to use their libraries over the summer has proved a success.
Over 2,700 people used their Reader Reward Cards to enter the Golden Ticket competition between August, September and October.
More reader reward cards were redeemed in October, the last month of the competition, than in any month since the scheme began in April of 2008.
The three winners not only won free DVDs and CD rentals for a year, but also were given £100 of book vouchers from renowned London book shop Foyles.

Competition rules
Library users had to hand in a completed Southwark Libraries Reader Reward Card to a member of library staff. At the end of each month the council selected at random one Reader Reward Card to be that month's winner. Users were able to submit as many fully completed reward cards as they liked.
Reader Reward Cards
These are Southwark libraries' own loyalty cards which offer a free DVD rental to users for every six items taken out.
