Rumble in the jumble
Published 13 May 2010
The jumble sale is taking place as part of the Bermondsey and Rotherhithe Carnival. Sell your unwanted items or pick up a bargain!
With the summer fast approaching, many of us are well overdue with our spring cleaning. You may have cupboards full of old and disused items which are perfectly fine, and so don't get thrown away. There just isn't the time, or a convenient opportunity to get rid of all those old items... well now's your chance.
We would like to offer you the opportunity to host your own stall at Rumble in the Jumble, the coolest jumble sale in town. At a time when everyone's feeling the pinch, this is your chance to raise a bit of cash at the same time as being part of a great fun event.
Bermondsey and Rotherhithe Carnival, on Saturday 12 June, is a new take on a popular annual event. We expect over 5,000 visitors, that's a lot of people to buy your jumble.
The carnival will feature music on the Victorian bandstand, an alternative ballroom area, arts and craft activities, sports and games to join in, a children's funfair, and the arrival of the annual street parade. Artists included in the bandstand line up are Rose Marie, Stacey Solomon and Andy Abrahams.
At our events we think it's important to have activities, entertainment and workshops that promote environmental issues and realistic methods of sustainable living, so the Rumble in the Jumble is a key part of our plans.
