Silver festival 2010
Published 20 March 2010
Silver, Southwark's fabulous festival for older people is back for its fourth year with an astonishing selection of activities and events as well as support and advice.
This year Silver has a distinctly literary feel with poetry, storytelling and reminiscence events, as well as author talks and writing sessions.
Join the Get Writing workshop with author Charlie Dark on 13 April then stand up and share your work with an audience of budding writers, old and young, at Silver Story Slam on 20 April.
If you've ever wanted to try ballet, now's your chance with a taster session by professional dancer Patrick Wood. Or impress your grandchildren with some new circus skills. Plus there's more live music with jazz concerts, choir performances and tea dances.
A few events will be open to young people and families. Come down to Silver Saturday on 17 April in Chumleigh Gardens to join in arts and crafts activities, sing in the Silver choir, go on a bike ride, do some gardening or learn how to knit.
