Freedom passes
Published 24 March 2010
If you have not yet renewed your Freedom Pass, or have not received your new one, by 31 March, you will now be able to use your existing pass until 31 May 2010.
This has been agreed to allow people extra time to apply and to ensure that those who have applied for a pass, but have yet to receive it, can continue to travel after 31 March.
So if you do not have a new pass by 31 March, your old pass will still be valid on all London buses, Tubes, trams and trains until 31 May.
It is important to note that the old passes will not work on Oyster readers after 31 March. Therefore you will need to show your pass to the ticket inspector or driver who will allow you to travel. You should also take the part of your old pass with the photograph.
If you are over 60 you need to apply for your new five-year freedom pass at the Post Office. Forms are also available at One Stop Shops for collection but you will need to take them to the Post Office to have them processed.
To apply for a disabled person's freedom pass, you will need to contact us on 020 7525 2141 or 020 7525 2306 for an application form.
Although the deadline has been extended, please return your completed forms immediately to enable us to process your application as quickly as possible.
