Southwark Council has received £158,000 from the first round of the Government’s Local Digital Fund for two projects designed to make life easier for residents who want to report housing repairs or be involved in planning.

Plans to improve the online service to report Housing Repairs received £80,000, while another project to improve the back office planning system got £78,000.

Cllr Stephanie Cryan, Cabinet Member for Housing and Modernisation at Southwark Council, said: “We’re very pleased to have been awarded £158,000 from the Government’s Local Digital Fund. We will be using the money to conduct research into how our digital service could be improved to get more people going online to report housing issues or get involved in the planning process.”
