Ledbury Towers heating installation works

13 October 2017

Cllr Stephanie Cryan, cabinet member for housing, said: “In just over two months Southwark Council has managed to install a completely new heating system to provide heat and hot water to 224 flats, a project which would normally take over a year in preparation alone.

“As with many blocks across the borough, the Ledbury Towers does have a number of day to day issues and repair needs that are not related to the heating installation works and we will continue to do what we can to get these fixed as and when they come up.

“Out of the 190 homes that have already been connected to the new system, we are aware of three reported leaks directly related to the installation work, all of which were fixed immediately, and three more related to the removal of the temporary immersion heaters, also immediately fixed. During the core drilling there were a handful of cases where water used to damp down dust travelled through to neighbouring homes and we have spoken to all residents affected and any damage will be made good.

“If any residents have any issues they should report them to the Ledbury team at the TRA Hall as soon as possible, or to Keepmoat directly at their site office, and we will get someone in straight away to get it sorted.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thanks all our residents in the tower blocks for their patience and good will during this difficult and stressful time and I am very pleased that everyone will be connected to the new heating system by the end of the week.”
