The funeral of PC Keith Palmer

6 April 2017

The funeral of PC Keith Palmer, who was tragically killed outside the Houses of Parliament last month, will be held at Southwark Cathedral on Monday 10 April.

While the funeral itself is a private event, there is likely to be a large turnout of police officers and members of the public who wish to pay their respects.  For a time preceding the funeral and during the funeral service at  2pm, Borough Market and the area around Southwark Cathedral will be closed to pedestrians and vehicle access. A number of road and bridge closures, including London Bridge and Southwark Bridge, will be in place throughout the day which will increase congestion elsewhere in the borough and disrupt transport links.

There will also be restriction around exits of London Bridge Station during security checks. Please be mindful of this on the day and allow sufficient time for any journeys. For updates, please see the Metropolitan Police’s official Twitter feed @MetPoliceUK
