The big switch off at school

The climate change and sustainability team provide information, resources and support to help Southwark schools become more sustainable.

Reducing energy use in your school

Southwark schools have the potential to save over 30 percent on their energy bills; 10 percent through behaviour changes such as switching off and 20 percent through technical measures identified through an energy audit.

Behaviour Change

All schools can take simple steps to save energy through staff and pupil behaviour change including developing a school energy policy with targets for reduction and organising an energy action team to take the changes forward, raise awareness and monitor energy savings.

All schools can register for their students to become Carbon Detectives. The Carbon Detectives programme provides support, resources and ideas for actions that your school can take to shrink your carbon footrpint.

Southwark Council can support you through this process.
