The Wooddene site

The site of the former Wooddene sits at the gateway to Peckham on the Queens Road. The Wooddene block, formerly part of the Acorn estate, was demolished in 2006.

The Council consulted with residents over the future housing development that would be built on the Wooddene site in December 2007. A number of housing associations and developers were then asked to express their interest in developing the site. Following a shortlisting process the Council selected a preferred developer with sufficient financial capacity to build out a development that meets the needs of the Council's residents. In February 2010, Council Executive granted approval for detailed negotiations to commence with the preferred developer (in this case a housing association) over the development agreement for the Wooddene site.

We are negotiating a detailed agreement with our preferred developer. Once the negotiations are complete and the site has been sold, we will announce who the developer is.
