Identity fraud: disposing of personal information

Please be aware that to protect yourself from identity fraud you should not throw away or recycle entire bills, receipts, credit or debit card slips, bank statements or even unwanted post in your name. Destroy unwanted documents, preferably by using a shredder or deleting your name, before placing them out for recycling. The following link opens in a new window

If you are disposing of unwanted computing equipment, either at the Household Waste Reuse and Recycling Centre, or via our bulky waste collection service, you should protect yourself by ensuring that all personal information has been thoroughly wiped from any storage devices (e.g hard drives) within that equipment.
