Installation of improved floodlights

Reduced service for a limited period

Southwark Council is pleased to announce that improved floodlights are to be installed on the tennis courts at the Burgess Park Tennis Centre.

Unfortunately this will mean a reduced service for a limited period - there will be reduced availability to the main courts between 17 October and 13 November 2011.

Access to the practice courts will remain unaffected.

Come and play at Southwark's newest tennis centre offering:

• Seven professionally surfaced courts
• A practice wall
• Floodlighting

Our friendly staff are on hand to help you book courts and answer any questions.

Clean and comfortable changing rooms, toilets and shower facilities are also available within the pavillion.

Disabled players are welcome at the Tennis Centre and there is disabled access to all areas of the pavillion.

Opening times

The courts are open from 12pm to 9pm everyday of the year except public holidays.

You can reserve a court by contacting us on 020 7703 4275 or emailing us at the address below. The online facility for booking courts is currently unavailble.

Court charges and membership

If you play regularly at the centre, you can save money by becoming a member and paying a discounted rate for your court.  

Court charges

• Adults - non members: £4 per hour or £6 per hour for floodlit courts
• Adults - members: £2 per hour and £4 per hour for floodlit courts
• Juniors - non members: £2 per hour and £3 per hour for floodlit courts
• Juniors - members: 50p per hour and £1 per hour for floodlit courts
• Concessions - non-members: £2 per hour and £3 per hour for floodlit courts
• Concessions - members: 50p per hour and £1 per hour for floodlit courts

Membership fees

• Adults: £20 per year
• Juniors: £5 per year
• Concessions: £5 per year
• Family: £30 per year
