Temporary closure

Nunhead Library will be closing for six weeks from Monday 24 October 2016 for refurbishment work. The work will include:

  • Interior decoration
  • New capet
  • Increased study space
  • Improved book display
  • Relaxed seating area for Wi-Fi users
  • Self-Service technology

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope you like the new look Nunhead Library. Books borrowed from Nunhead can be returned to any Southwark Library. During the closure period your nearest library is Peckham Library.

Opening times

  • Monday 2pm to 7pm
  • Tuesday 2pm to 7pm
  • Wednesday 2pm to 7pm
  • Thursday 2pm to 7pm
  • Friday 10am to 3pm
  • Saturday 10am to 5pm
  • Sunday closed   

Children: weekly and monthly activities

  • Baby and toddler sessions, every Monday, 2pm to 3pm. No sessions over the summer break and term time. 
  • Baby Rhyme time, every Friday 11am to 11.30am

Adults: weekly and monthly activities

What else is on offer 

  • Books, talking books and DVDs to borrow
  • Free Wi-Fi 
  • Four adult study spaces available
  • Photocopying facilities
  • Free internet access - 9 PCs available for public use
  • Free computer classes and learning in libraries


There is wheelchair access to the library and a disabled toilet. There are two disabled parking bays opposite the library.
