Improving local retail environments (ILRE)
Supporting our local retailers
The improving local retail environments programme (ILRE) is a £4.2m scheme to improve some of Southwark's local retail parades.
Twenty four sites in the borough will benefit from developments such as:
- Upgraded shop fronts
- Enhanced lighting
- Improved paving
- Better street furniture
- Clearer signage
- Better security and community safety
This project will help local traders improve the shopping experience for their customers, and ensure that local shops continue to thrive and support the communities they serve.
ILRE sites
Three sites have been chosen from each community council area. If your shop is in an ILRE site you will be contacted by someone from the council.
