Burgess Park BMX

Opening hours and bookings

Burgess Park BMX trackThe Burgess Park BMX track will be open for use from Tuesday 6 August and thereafter every Tuesday to Sunday 9am until 9pm. The track will not be open on Mondays in order to allow essential maintenance operations to be undertaken to the track and surrounds.


Rock Up and Ride

The Rock Up and Ride sessions are free and are on a first come basis. You can use your own bike, helmet and gloves if suitable, otherwise these can be hired through Southwark council's sports booking team. You do not need to book for Rock Up and Ride.

Book and ride

To make a booking for book and ride sessions and also group bookings please download an application form and terms and conditions and return to Southwark sports booking team.

Please note

  • The booking service is not available at weekends and as such bookings for weekends must be made by 5pm Friday.
  • The hours of operation of the booking service are 9am to 5pm weekdays.
  • The minimum age for open use of the track is eight years. Specific open sessions will be available for six to eight years. Where siblings that fall into more than one age category wish to ride together discretion will be with track staff.
  • Strider bike sessions are available for two to five year olds. The minimum age for club sessions is at the club's discretion.


The use of the track for events is to be booked through the sports bookings service and if further areas outside of the track boundary are required to facilitate the event, this must be booked and managed through the council’s events application process with a fee being charged for the track use and also for the wider use of the park.

Marketing and communication

All marketing and communication in relation to the track whether it be signage on site, in the media, in paper or electronic format must be approved by the council in the first instance. Contact the marketing team at councilnews@southwark.gov.uk.
