Wildlife in Burgess Park

Burgess Park

At 46 hectares Burgess Park is the largest park in Southwark. It has been designated as having some areas of importance for nature and wildlife but it's felt by experts in this field that there is huge room for improvement in this area.

Read the full Burgess Park ecology report.

For a detailed list of species currently present please refer to the Phase One Habitat Survey.

The lake

The new lake in Burgess Park will offer an improved habitat. With additional planting, new islands and fountains and an extension. There will be a boardwalk and the path around the lake will be improved. Fishing swims will be put in to allow a better environment for the anglers.
