Dulwich Leisure Centre
Refurbishment programme
Dulwich Leisure Centre has served the local community since 25 June 1892. In a two phase refurbishment programme, £6.2 million was allocated to upgrade the building and facilities completely whilst preserving and enhancing the historical features.
From 25 June 2011 customers can see the completion of the centre refurbishment, which includes a new gym with 100 workstations (a third larger than before) and new dry-changing rooms in addition to the fully operational 25 metre pool, wet-changing rooms, reception, café and crèche opened in September 2010.
One point of particular note is that access for people with mobility and visual difficulties has been significantly improved across the site. From the moment customers arrive, step free access, lowered counters, dedicated accessible changing and clear signage all contribute to a centre that is now inclusive to all.
Pop in soon and ask for a tour of the new gym and pool and see how we have blended 1892 Victorian features with 21st century design - we are sure you'll be impressed.
