Permanent residents living within Southwark's controlled parking zones can buy booklets of visitors' parking permits. Each booklet contains ten permits.

Visitors' permits are available in all controlled parking zones.

Cost of visitor permit booklets

The first booklet you buy within any 12 month period is discounted to £25. If you buy any more booklets within one year of buying your first one, you will be charged the full price of £45. 

After 12 months has passed, you'll qualify for another booklet at the discounted price.

Each permit in a permit book displays the initials of the controlled parking zone it is for.

By phone

You can apply and pay over the phone by calling Southwark Parking Services on:

To apply by post, simply download and complete the resident visitor's permit application form.

Delivery of visitor's permit

Visitor's permits are hand delivered provided the officer can gain access to your property. Alternatively if access to your property is restricted, parking services will contact you either via email or telephone to arrange delivery or collection from Mandela Way car pound SE1.

How the permit system works

Each permit is valid for one vehicle and for one date only. Each permit has a silver scratch panel. Simply scratch off the day, date, and month on the permit when you plan to use it. You must also write the vehicle registration number in ink on the permit.

Make sure the permit is clearly displayed and can be easily seen from the footpath - you'll find instructions on the reverse of the permit.

You only need a visitors' permit if you are parking within a controlled parking zone during the hours when restrictions are in force - check the controlled parking zone parking signs for details of times and days.

The booklet will be posted back to you, but please note that we cannot replace booklets that go astray in the post.
