Open data
Council spending over £500
The council is committed to publishing spending data on all goods and services over £500 each month, and started with August 2010.
Enquiries about the spending document should be submitted via the freedom of information process. Media enquiries should go through the media office.
With regard to the monthly files published, please note that all entries are a consolidation of payments made to each individual vendor for the month and in some cases the same vendor/firm appears more than once. This may be for a couple of reasons: the firm has more than one physical address or the council has more than one account with the firm. There is therefore the need to publish multiple lines for what may seem to be the same company.
Please also be aware that in some cases the abbreviation 'T/A' is used within a vendor name. This represents the phrase 'Trading as' and is used where company names have been changed due to mergers, take-overs.
Salary information
Information is also given on the salaries of top managers in the council. This is in addition to the declaration of remuneration information for senior employees set out in the annual statement of accounts.
Election results
In May 2010 we published the council's election results using open data technology.
