Adoption

Core strategy found sound

The Core Strategy  has been formally adopted. It was approved at Council Assembly on the 6 April.

The Core Strategy was examined in public by an independent inspector and the conclusion of the Inspector's binding report was that the Core Strategy was found sound subject to minor changes. View the stages of the core strategy preparation and adoption.

Prior to and during the examination in public we provided the Inspector with a list of proposed changes to the Core Strategy to provide factual updates or minor amendments arising from the consultation period. The Inspector agreed that these changes would improve the document, in some cases were needed to make the Core Strategy sound and confirmed that they should be incorporated into the final Core Strategy. These are set out in appendix A of his final report. The changes required for soundness are highlighted in green.

The Inspector also proposed minor changes that he considered were necessary to ensure that the Core Strategy is sound. His report is binding. These changes are set out in appendix B of his final report.

The final Core Strategy, incorporating the changes from the Inspector's Report was taken forward to Planning Committee, Cabinet and Council Assembly for adoption.
