Redcross Gardens

New lease of life for Redcross Gardens

Bankside Open Spaces Trust has leased Redcross Gardens from the council. Working closely with the council, local residents and businesses have created a historic oasis near Borough Market.

Haven of tranquillity

The garden was originally laid out by Octavia Hill, co founder of The National Trust and a social reformer.

Bankside Open Spaces Trust secured Heritage Lottery funding to restore the garden to its former glory, complete with pond, bridge, fountain, flower beds and winding paths.

The garden is open to everyone. Events will be held at the garden regularly throughout the year.
