Tanner Street Park
Tanner Street Park
Southwark Council is working with Farrer Huxley Associates to deliver further environmental improvements to Tanner Street Park. Tanner Street Park is a popular local space which was successfully refurbished in 2003. However, during the previous refurbishment project, the funding available was not sufficient to complete the entire park and as a result an area to the rear of the park remained outside the scope of works.
Funding from Section 106, Cleaner Greener Safer and the Play builder scheme has been secured to enhance the park and create a more attractive environment at the south eastern end of the park.
Stage two consultation
Following the comments you have provided during our main consultation period in June and July, Southwark Council and Farrer and Huxley have worked in partnership to create an enhancement scheme for the park which existing as well as new users to the park will enjoy. Improvements to the park will include greening the south-eastern end with a variety of different planting and flowering species and additional seating.
The existing play area will be upgraded with interesting natural play equipment that will encourage more physical activity amongst children and provide greater opportunities for creative recreation.

Thank you for your comments. We received a large number of very useful observations and a variety of comments to the three design options that were suggested. All your comments were analysed to create a revised scheme for this project.
