Frameworks, strategies and programmes of work
What we do
Our team is involved with developing area based strategies for the north of the Borough. Such work contributes to the development of a more strategic and considered approach to regeneration in the area.
The strategies to date include
- London Bridge investment framework
- Lighting strategy for Bankside and adjoining areas
- Southwark Council Section 106 Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)
We are also key partners with other area based and London wide strategies and deliver some of the related schemes. The aim of our involvement is to ensure additional value for Southwark. Examples of our partnership work are Light at the End of the Tunnel, Bankside Urban Forest, Legible London, Thames Link and The Cut, which was the first Transport for London area based scheme.
Two recent programmes of work that have been very well received are the Borough and Bankside, and Bermondsey Streetscape improvement programmes. Together, these programmes identify over 50 projects to be implemented throughout these two areas using section 106 funding.
As with all our work, we can't develop or deliver these strategies independently and always work closely with partners and the local community to ensure their success.
