Southwark 2012 Olympic legacy fund
Southwark's Olympic capital legacy fund
As part of Southwark's commitment to a lasting legacy from the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics games, the capital legacy group, led by the council's leader Cllr Peter John, invited capital project bids and ideas on how we can best spend £2m to improve participation in sport in our borough.
Short listed applications
In April 2011 we received forty exciting applications for a variety of projects ranging from multi use games areas, outdoor gyms to a BMX track. From these we shortlisted a range of applications who were then invited to take part in stage two of the funding process.
In July 2011 fourteen project proposals were received for stage two and these finalists were considered by the capital legacy group on the 31 August 2011.
Winners announced
In October 2011 we announced the ten projects that have been granted a share of the £2m capital legacy fund.
