Lost Southwark
Lost Southwark, rediscovering Southwark's history through art
May 26 to August 29 2009
This exhibition displayed over 40 works of art from the Southwark art collection highlighting the lost heritage of one of London's most historic boroughs.
Over the last 200 years large parts of Southwark have undergone major changes and many historic buildings and neighbourhoods have been destroyed, demolished or totally transformed. This exhibition gave the visitor an opportunity to glimpse into the past and to revisit a cityscape that either no longer exists or has been radically altered.
For information about the works of art that featured in the Lost Southwark exhibition see Collections page on the the Southwark Collections web site.
