AAWAZ (Southwark Asian Women's Association)

The AAWAZ Southwark Asian Women's Association offers a centre for South Asian women and children; advice and information on welfare rights, benefits, housing, harassment and physical/sexual abuse; signposting to other services, range of group activities; classes and courses designed to develop confidence and independence; some translation and interpreting; outings and cultural events; a playscheme for five to 16 yr olds, youth projects and a homework club.

Barnado's Young Women

Barnardo's Young Women's project is based in London and offers young girls at risk of abuse; practical advice, social care, health and educational services.

Great Lakes of Africa Womens Network

Great Lakes African Women's Network aims to empower bereaved women or those who have been through trauma becase of conflict in countries of origin. Women are given employment skills training, advice on CV writing, interview practice, and have access to the internet to look for jobs. Also encourage women to take part in cultural activities.

Kurdistan and Middle Eastern Women's Organisation

Kurdistan and Middle Eastern Women's Organisation (KRWO) was established in 1999 in order to provide support for women from Iraq, Iran and Eastern Turkey. All these women have one thing in common - they were all victims of domestic violence and exposed to the threat of honour killing in their countries.
