Camberwell SPD

We are preparing a supplementary planning document (SPD) for Camberwell. It will set out the overall plan and detailed guidance for how development in the area should happen. The SPD provides further guidance on policies in the Southwark Plan, London Plan and emerging core strategy and will be used to decide planning applications in Camberwell.

A range of development is expected to take place in Camberwell, particularly new housing and traffic improvements. The SPD will make sure development creates an exciting and successful place and covers a range of important topics. These include the design of development, what uses are appropriate and how new development should help improve streets, public spaces and preserve Camberwell's mix of heritage buildings. 

We expect to consult on the document in late 2011.
